Community Connections is seeking a skilled worker to provide early intervention support to young people and their families to enhance wellbeing and connection to school and community. This will include times when the young person is at risk of school disengagement.
We invite applications from practitioners who are:
passionate about the issues young people face, including neurodivergent young people and those with varied life experiences
enjoy engaging in direct practice with young people and their networks,
interested in building networks across communities, and
have a qualification of Certificate IV or higher in Youth Work or equivalent experience to meet skills of this training.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with the skills and passion to support young people and their families with their social and emotional skills at the Queensland Pathways College's Bracken Ridge and Moreton Bay campuses. You will receive monthly supervision pro rata from a qualified practitioner, school holidays off work, and the opportunity to engage with a team of experienced and supportive colleagues. Community development
Education Support
Extra-curricular activities (e.g. excursions)
The position offers up to 22 hours a week, in school terms only. The position will commence in April 2026. A delayed start could be negotiated if required. Remuneration is at a SCHCADS Level 3 (Social and Community Services Pay Scales). There is opportunity to increase your income through inclusion in our salary sacrificing program. As the early intervention youth service at Community Living Association Inc, Community Connections works alongside young people and families where there are issues that could lead to early home leaving and/or early disengaging from school. Using an early intervention and community development framework, our work encompasses individual support, group and project work as well as creating links with the school and wider community. Queensland Pathways State College (QPSC) is a state high school that specialises in supporting young people aged 15 to 18 (minimum Year 10) who have significant barriers to accessing mainstream education. QPSC delivers a 12 month senior transition program with a strong focus on literacy, numeracy, workplace skills and wellbeing.
Many QPSC students have experienced anxiety, depression, long-term disengagement from schooling, trauma, homelessness, or other adversity. The school provides a safe, supportive, strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to education, so that students can achieve their goals and purposefully move on to pathways in further education, training and employment. QPSC has nine campuses: Bracken Ridge, Bundamba, Coorparoo, Goodna, Moreton Bay, Mount Gravatt, Mount Isa, Toowoomba and Townsville. Each campus features a relatively small cohort with a low student-to-teacher ratio. Important Dates Closing date - As advertised
