What will your role be ? Reporting to the Diageo Australia Supply Director, The Head of Health, Safety and Environment is responsible for leading and delivering OHSE capabilities, across business safety culture journey, regulatory compliance and WHSE improvement projects development and execution for Diageo Australia. The Head of OHSE is a trusted partner to the Diageo Australia leadership teams and will contribute to the development of HSE strategies and will lead the advice and support to our business and key stakeholders. You are a passionate Safety and Environment Leader who can lead improvement across the business but also be a “hands on practitioner” to provide advice, guidance and support the various functions across Diageo Australia and New Zealand network. What does this role look like for you? Compliance and Innovation Lead OHSE resources to drive business value and outcomes aligned to Diageo Global Safety and Environment requirements. Develop and implement Diageo Australia OHSE strategy across Diageo Australia footprint Contribute and manage the Environmental management outcomes (regulatory, operational, future improvement, spirit of progress) Establish a proactive WH&S Governance and Assurance framework and implement an effective Contractor Management System Performance Monitoring and optimization Develop and deliver an OHSE governance and Assurance plan. Monitor, control and report compliance with WH&S performance, legislative and regulatory requirements; Improve and Maintain WH&S and Environment Management System for Diageo Australia. Collaboration and Communication Develop and communicate policies and procedures to improve safety and environment outcomes for Diageo Australia. Report and further improve key performance indicators aligned with Diageo Global guidelines for health, safety and environment KPIs. Lead the Workers’ Compensation and Return to Work process through pro-active case management and stakeholder engagement with employees, insurers and regulators Monitor and report on WHS and Environment legislation compliance, and compliance to Diageo Global Risk Management Standards. Build and manage relationships with external agencies and promote WH&S and Environment across all of Diageo Australia Business. Provide OHSE Business partnering; which focusses on “taking people on the safety journey” w ith emphasis on upskilling, engagement, advice. Leadership The role has both influencing and direct leadership impact. K ey business partner relationship with the Diageo Australia Executive Team and Leadership team across the business. Lead the OHS-Committee. Key member of Environmental sustainability committee. Report to Diageo Australia Risk Management Committee and where required DAL Board in OHSE issues Partner with leadership teams in providing advice and support to manage environmental risks and issues, while fostering a culture of environmental improvement, embedding environmental considerations into business-as-usual operations. Model best practice health, safety and environmental leadership What you will bring to this role Work Health and Safety qualifications, Environment management qualifications or extensive experience in WHSE, alternatively and/or, Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering, Operations Management, Environmental Science, Medical Min 8 - 10 years’ experience within Health, Safety and Environment roles, with minimum of 5 years in senior HSE role with demonstrated experience in leading change projects in health, safety and environment. High level of understanding of the WHS and Injury management legislative framework, advanced knowledge of ISO and OHSAS standards and understanding of federal, state and local environmental legislation and statutory requirements related to “license to operate” and compliance. Demonstrated experience partnering with senior stakeholders and driving improvement and safety engagement business wide. Thought leadership to develop a future-fit roadmap for Health, Safety and Environment in line with the long-term business strategies. What are the benefits?
