Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Training to lead the team that designs, implements, and manages comprehensive technical operational training activities, programs, and systems that ensure the technical competency of employees across the globe, with a strong emphasis on conducting work safely and efficiently. The initial focus of the role is to re-imagine the training model and approach for Contract Mining, feeding into our group-wide safety transformation plan.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and implement comprehensive training strategies aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Lead a team of training professionals and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality programs covering technical skills, safety protocols, and operational efficiencies in a cost-effective and engaging way.
Collaborate closely with operational managers and HR to assess training needs and develop tailored learning paths for different roles and career levels.
Evaluate and enhance existing training materials and methods to optimize learning outcomes and engagement.
Establish an effective service delivery model and service offering that meets the organisation’s training needs in all parts of the world.
Monitor and report on training effectiveness, making data-driven recommendations to ensure return on investment and drive continuous improvement.
Stay updated on industry trends, technology advancements, and regulatory changes to ensure training programs remain cutting-edge and compliant.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Training and Development, Education, Human Resources, or a related field.
Proven experience (7+ years) in a leadership role within the mining or heavy industry, with a focus on training and development.
Strong understanding of underground mining operations, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead a diverse team, foster a culture of continuous learning, and drive performance excellence.
