The Molding Technician position is very “hands-on" and will require making necessary changes and adjustments to the technical blow molding and auxiliary equipment in a safe and controlled manner. We pride ourselves on quality products being made to controlled specification and continuing to optimize the performance of machine and or process. Your key responsibilities will be to: Ensure correct changeover and set up of product tooling during the shift Ensure correct changeovers of moulded product during the shift (i.e., colour changes, material changes) as per the production plan Make machine adjustments as per the setup sheet and training to maintain a quality product Set-up of ancillary equipment (i.e., blenders, leak detectors, robotic systems, IML systems, vision systems)Assist the Shift Supervisor and Operators with successful completion of each production run Perform process troubleshooting, part inspections, and other functions to ensure part conformity and quality Verify paperwork for jobs and completion of inspections at startup and during production Maintain machine and auxiliary equipment processing parameters to ensure quality, weight, and cycle time compliance Prioritize work and machines according to the production plan to ensure timely delivery without defects Perform mechanical maintenance of machines and auxiliary equipment to keep them in satisfactory condition Work overtime and weekends as required Packing product during breaks and slow periods Operate forklift as needed Your skills and experience To succeed in this role, you should have:5+ years’ experience in process, die setup, or die maintenance in a manufacturing environment; plastics experience is important Mechanical and technical aptitude with troubleshooting skills for hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical equipment Experience troubleshooting extrusion blow molding machines Knowledge of plastic materials and processes, mold design, and auxiliary equipment involved in blow molding Ability to assess bottle quality and operational efficiency Reliability and quality-focused attitude High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is a plus Cert III in Process Polymer Moulding or equivalent Additional Information About us Our vision is to lead the circular economy through packaging, reuse, and recycling solutions.
