In response to continued growth and exciting project wins, we are now looking for a Cairns-based Technical Director – Surface Water. As a motivated and experienced engineer, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of substantive hydrology and hydraulic elements for a variety of integrated projects. Working as a valued member of the GHD Surface Water Team will expose you to some of the largest and most interesting projects being undertaken nationally and internationally. There is flexibility to define your role (whether that be technical, business development or managerial) and drive career outcomes that are most important to you. This is all while working within the hydrology and hydrodynamics service line which is comprised of a large pool of industry leaders and technical experts both nationally and internationally. If you're looking for a dynamic and rewarding role, then apply today to join our team Responsibilities: Working on a broad range of civil infrastructure, which may include dams, weirs, fishways, stormwater drainage, linear infrastructure and mine water management schemes Working on a diverse range of projects based locally, interstate and internationally Undertaking complex numerical modelling studies of various types of water infrastructure to facilitate impact assessments, risk assessments, concept designs, and regulatory compliance Undertaking business development activities, building client relationships and project bidding tasks Requirements: Minimum 12 years relevant industry experience Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Environmental Engineering or similar Experience with a range of software such as: 2D hydraulic modelling software (TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, MIKE etc.) Geospatial Information Systems (ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo etc.) 3D CAD software (Inventor Pro, SolidWorks, AutoCAD 3D, FreeCAD etc.) would be an advantage Programming languages (Python, Java etc.) would be an advantage CFD simulation software (OpenFOAM, Ansys CFX or Fluent, Siemens StarCCM etc) would be an advantage Water balance and hydrology modelling packages (GoldSIM, IQQM, Source etc.) Project Management (highly regarded) Actively working towards CPEng obtainment (RPEQ Qualification for QLD) Interested?
