About the role
selectability is currently seeking a passionate motivated team leader - SIL to join our growing team! As a team leader for supported independent living (SIL), you will play a vital role in supporting our recipients to live their best life - empowering individuals to build confidence, work towards their goals and improve their mental wellbeing.
The team leader - supported independent living (SIL) will provide leadership and support on day-to-day basis to the lifestyle support workers who provide care to selectability recipients in their supported independent living arrangement.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
overseeing the daily operations of the SIL Services which includes- monitoring, managing and supporting the Lifestyle support workers to maintain workplace health and safety checks, cleanliness of the property, positive behaviour support plan data sheets, restricted practice audit tools, eg sharps and medication
implementing and promoting best practices to enhance service delivery and recipient outcomes
providing support and guidance to staff when required
providing timely and effective responses to any emergencies or critical incidents
maintaining professional boundaries at all times
maintaining accurate and up to date recipient records and documentation
participating in team meetings, and professional development activities
working with a range of complex presentations, including those with severe and persistent mental illness, and/or multiple diagnoses
About you
To be successful for this rewarding role you must:
possess clear and effective communication skills
demonstrate computer literacy and accuracy in record management
experience working in a team environment
exhibit an ability to problem solve
be able to follow policies and procedures at all times
be able to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals
experience working with people with mental health, intellectual and/or physical disability
Role requirements
minimum of 2 years' experience in a leadership role within the disability or community services sector
strong understanding of NDIS, supported independent living, and person-centred practices
a current nationally recognised First Aid & CPR certificate
a current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland driver licence
a currently registered, roadworthy, and fully comprehensive insured vehicle
a Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain)
a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain)
NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You' completion certificate

This is a Full-time role based in Cairns.
