Forensic Structural Engineer
Location: Melbourne, Brisbane – Full time.
Responsibilities
Inspect and assess the condition of existing buildings and structures to determine the cause of damage.
Identify design and construction defects with reference to code and damage causation.
Collect data using photographic equipment.
Accurately and detailedly record data while in office.
Prepare detailed computations for the repair of small to medium structures.
Deliver design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
Provide construction‐phase support on a wide array of projects.
Qualifications
At least 5 years of industry experience, with forensic engineering experience preferred.
Bachelor of Civil/Structural Engineering.
Member of Engineers Australia (MIEAust).
Chartered Engineer and/or Registered on the National Engineers Register (NER).
Interstate accreditations considered, including Registered Building Practitioner, Victoria (RPEV) and Registered Professional Engineer, Queensland (RPEQ).
Proven experience with structural design software such as Spacegass, Structural Toolkit, etc.
Sound knowledge of the insurance industry, including claims lifecycle, legislative framework, applicable codes and products.
