Senior Director - Environmental Sustainability

Metro South Finance are looking for a Senior Director of Environmental Sustainability to join their team. This role will lead the development, implementation and monitoring of the Metro South Health Environmental Sustainability Strategy including supporting programs and projects to assist Metro South Health and associated stakeholders to deliver on the strategy.

About the Role

  • Lead the development and implementation of the Environmental Sustainability Strategy and associated sustainability programs and initiatives across Metro South Health sites and services.
  • Lead and deliver environmental sustainability initiatives, education and awareness activities to promote and achieve more sustainable clinical and non-clinical waste management and recycling practices across Metro South Health.
  • Provide expert advice, direction and guidance to stakeholders relating to project programs and initiatives under the key strategic elements of the Sustainability Strategy.
  • Engage with service directors to educate and implement effective environmental sustainability initiatives, as well as plan, coordinate and conduct audits and inspections for waste management.
  • Lead and support environmental audits and climate risk assessments and create plans to manage risks and identify opportunities for improvement.
