About the role Reporting to the State Director QLD, the Director Operations, QLD supports the ACIC’s strategic direction by leading the agency’s intelligence operations function in QLD. The position plays a pivotal leadership role in the region and requires strong collaboration skills within the Intelligence Operations Group, across the agency, domestic law enforcement partner agencies, the National Intelligence Community and international law enforcement stakeholders. You will lead the operational prioritisation of agency capability, team direction and delivery of complex operational projects to discover, understand and respond to serious and organised crime threats to Australia. In addition to the application of coercive and other legislative powers, this position uses leading edge techniques with capabilities that are data driven and globally focussed to ensure the ACIC is effective in providing mission critical intelligence to our partners to enable them to disrupt and dismantle serious and organised crime impacting Australia. The Director Operations, QLD will lead a diverse team adhering to common operating practices throughout the ACIC and ensuring activities are conducted with proper and sound governance relating to the usage of legislation, policy, deployment of tactics and tradecraft, work health and safety and security needs. Key responsibilities: You will work as part of a national executive-level leadership team to prioritise and deliver operations in a coordinated way to ensure the ACIC maximises its reach and impact domestically and offshore.
