The NACC enhances integrity in the Commonwealth public sector by deterring, detecting, and preventing corrupt conduct involving Commonwealth public officials. It does this through education, monitoring, investigation, reporting and referral.

Under the direction of the Senior Security Officer, the Security Officer supports the management of the NACC's protective security measures, including administrative functions and arrangements that support compliance with the Australian Government's Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF). The role provides a key support to the effective management of the physical security of the NACC's properties. The key duties of the position include:
Contribute to the review and ongoing maintenance of security clearances and liaison with the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA).
Supporting the agency on-boarding process for employees and contractors which includes pre-employment screening processes including Document Verification Scheme (DVS), and Nationally Consistent Criminal History Checks (NCCHC).
Contribute to the review of security risk assessments relating to physical and personnel security and site inspections of agency facilities and infrastructure.
Contributing to the management of all electronic security systems across the agency including CCTV, electronic access control and intruder detection, electronic key safes, safes and containers.
Contribute to the review of security risk assessments relating to physical and personnel security and site inspections of agency facilities and infrastructure.
Contributing to the agency's security governance and the security policies and procedures that support NACC's protective security obligations.
Undertaking security investigations in response to any security breaches or incidents.
Liaison with relevant stakeholders within the agency, external agencies and security agencies on matters relating to NACC's security, property and facilities.
Provide support to security and property projects and contracts. Eligibility

Employment with the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) is subject to the following conditions:

Citizenship - Applicants must be an Australian Citizen.

Security Clearance - This is a Designated Security Assessment Position (DSAP). The occupant of this position must obtain and retain an AGSVA security clearance to the specified level.

Suitability assessment - The NACC must be satisfied that successful applicants are of suitable character. They must undergo a rigorous pre-employment suitability screening process that can be intrusive in nature including (but not limited to) detailed background, character, employment, police, and financial checks.

Probation - A probation period will apply to any new ongoing engagement to the Australian Public Service. Notes

The NACC provides a service allowance of $2,039 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) to non-SES employees which acknowledges the special requirements of working at the NACC. This includes the need for high-level personal security assessments; the intrusion associated with notifying private financial and social interests and the necessity to engage in practices to prevent targeting by unlawful elements.
