About Us

Marine Trade Supplies is one of the most recognised and respected brands in the SE Qld Marine Paint Industry. Marine Trade Supplies was established in 2001 and operates a specialised Marine & Protective coatings division distributing various brands to suit the local Marine Industry. We distribute Akzo Nobel brands such as Awlgrip, International Yacht, International Marine, Jotun, PPG Marine, Resene & Altex brands, Hempel Yacht & Valspar Wattyl. Our diverse range allows us to cater to near 90% of the marine refinishing requirements we come across at our outlet, based in Australia's Greatest Boat Yard, The Boat Works Coomera on the Gold Coast. A vacancy has arisen in our Marine & Protective Coatings Division assisting the department manager in every aspect of the operation in our Coomera outlet.

About the Role

We require a bright ambitious sales professional who preferably has experience working within the marine paint industry. This position would be ideal for someone who possesses both account management and operational skills. This position will suit someone seeking a long term career in a stable and progressive company. The role is based in our Coomera Trade Outlet in Coomera on the Gold Coast Queensland.

Duties & Responsibilities

This role is dedicated to assisting our Marine & Protective Coatings Manager in day to day operations of our Marine & Protective Coating Division. You will assist in the full operational running of a Trade, Retail, Industrial, Protective & Marine Coatings division. It will involve picking & packing orders, local delivery & pickup of orders. The role will mean you will be not only selling paints, but everything that goes with painting. Orders include tapes, masking, abrasives & much more. The successful applicant will be flexible, self-motivated, have high ideals of customer service, preferable technical knowledge of marine, industrial & protective paint systems and want to join a happy, progressive, and successful team. Additionally, the successful applicant will be comfortable with cold calling to prospect new business, keeping engaged in the local marine industry through following projects and not adverse to lifting the companies profile by engaging with the many local trades we deal with on a daily basis. Monitor and communicate local competitor activity to Marine Trade Supplies management. Work in collaboration with Marine Trade Supplies strategic supply partners to ensure alignment on new business targets to support in the overall delivery of store budgets. Skills & Experience

A proven history of achieving sales growth whilst controlling operational expenses will be highly regarded. This is a demanding role and we are seeking a high calibre applicant. Marine Paint Industry experience is preferred but not essential. Applicants that have also had Trade/Retail/Hardware industry experience or related building industry experience will be highly considered. High level of written and oral presentation skills. Ability to prioritise and work effectively to manage several projects at once. You will be required to hold and maintain a drivers licence in order to maintain this position.
