Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, the Records Management Officer will provide assistance to staff on information management practices and requirements, including recordkeeping training, repository management and reporting.
In addition to the general responsibilities and duties outlined in the Work Level Standards for an APS 6, key responsibilities and priorities include (but are not limited to):
Lead and deliver projects to strengthen information management practices.
Maintain and enhance the Information Asset Register.
Provide expert advice on records keeping requirements
Clarify roles and responsibilities for information governance across the organisation.
Review and update record security protocols.
Manage sentencing and disposal of records in accordance with the National Archives Act 1983.
Ensuring compliance with the Privacy Act 1988
Maintain system access controls and ensure compliance with reporting obligations (e.g. Harradine Report, NAA Check-up).
Develop training and communication materials to build staff capability.
Draft briefs and policies related to records and information management.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and contribute to broader corporate services activities.
Our Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role the candidate will have:
Demonstrated experience in and/or qualifications in Information Management/Record Keeping.
Proficiency in TRIM/Content Manager and Share Point
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent planning, organisation and stakeholder engagement abilities
A proactive mindset with sound judgement and initiative. Eligibility
To be eligible for employment with SWA, you must be an Australian citizen, and you will be required to successfully undergo a police record check.
The successful applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a minimum of a Baseline level security clearance or hold a current security clearance of an appropriate level.
