ABOUT THE ROLES
Station Hands
A hands-on role where no two days are the same! You'll be responsible for day-to-day station operations, including cattle handling, bore runs, machinery operation, fencing, and general property maintenance. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, being active, and contributing directly to the success of the property.
Leading Hand
A step up from the Station Hand role, the Leading Hand takes on all hands-on duties while also supporting the Property Manager in team leadership, training, livestock programs, and overall station coordination. You'll play a key role in guiding operations and staff, stepping in to lead when the Property Manager is away, and ensuring the station runs smoothly every day.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Core Responsibilities (Both Roles)
Carry out cattle husbandry: mustering, drafting, processing & trucking
Daily monitoring of stock welfare, pasture condition & water points
Operate and maintain station machinery, vehicles & plant
Complete bore runs, maintain turkey nests, troughs, pipelines & pumps
Perform repairs on fencing, buildings & infrastructure
Record keeping for water, stock numbers, maintenance & daily tasks
Act as a respectful, safety-focused team member
Represent CCC professionally in the local community
Additional Responsibilities – Leading Hand
Lead crew during mustering and day-to-day operations
Train, guide & support station staff in cattle handling and safe work practices
Report livestock condition, pasture metrics & operational progress to management
Coordinate toolbox talks and drive WHS compliance
Assist with planning, maintenance schedules & asset management
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Station Hands
Experience with cattle and station work
Ability to ride horses and/or 2-wheel motorbikes safely
Strong communication, reliability & willingness to learn
Organised, practical and safety-focused
Enjoy working outdoors and in a team environment
Leading Hand
Everything above, plus:
Significant experience in a similar-scale cattle operation
Proven ability to lead, train and motivate a team
Strong understanding of beef production systems
Confident decision-maker with excellent time management
Able to communicate clearly with crew and management
