About the Role

As a Purchasing Assistant, you will support the ongoing provisioning of our vessels and warehouse logistics operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely procurement, accurate inventory management, and smooth ship turnarounds.

This position is based in Darwin and offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining office-based work, remote work flexibility, and on-site wharf attendance during vessel turnarounds as required.


Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Maintaining product and stock codes within relevant systems, including liaising with suppliers
Raising and processing Purchase Orders
Assisting at the wharf during vessel turnarounds as required
Entering order details (vendors, quantities, pricing) into internal databases
Maintaining accurate records of purchases, deliveries, and invoices
Tracking orders to ensure timely delivery and resolving any discrepancies Desired Skills and Experience

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:
Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement environment
Knowledge of vendor sourcing practices, including researching, evaluating, and liaising with suppliers
Experience in freight and logistics coordination
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365
Experience with Net Suite and HELM Maritime Operations programs (desirable)
Excellent organisational and planning skills
The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a team
Eligibility to apply for a Maritime Safety Identification Card (MSIC)
