About the Role
The Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre is seeking a skilled and organised Project Officer to support the delivery of a statewide Aboriginal housing review. This role involves community engagement, research support, and project administration as part of the development of an Aboriginal Housing Strategy and Action Plan for Lutruwita/Tasmania.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate engagement with the Aboriginal community across Tasmania, including Bass Strait Islands
Document community views, priorities, and housing concerns
Assist with research into housing models and policy options
Collect and organise information relating to community housing needs
Assist in preparing project reports, engagement summaries, and strategy documents
Provide logistical and administrative project support
Maintain accurate project records
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
Demonstrated ability to work respectfully with the Tasmanian Aboriginal community
Strong organisational, research, and communication skills
Experience supporting projects, research, or consultation activities
Ability to prepare written material and maintain accurate documentation
Ability to work collaboratively within a multi disciplinary team
Desirable
Knowledge or interest in social housing or Aboriginal housing models
Understanding of housing or social policy
Pre Employment Requirements
Current driver's licence
National Police Check
Working with Vulnerable People Card
