Quickway Constructions Pty Ltd are seeking to recruit a Project Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, plan, organise and oversee the construction of civil engineering projects (including bridge, paving, retaining walls, underground assets, road, etc.)

Tasks and Duties:

1. Determining construction methods, materials and quality standards
2. Interpreting technical and structural drawings and specifications
3. Coordinating labour resources, and procurement and delivery of materials, plant and equipment
4. Solving problems and issues pertaining to projects
5. Managing paperwork associated with contracts, tenders, programs, projects, etc.
6. Consulting with designers, engineers, suppliers, clients, trades workers, etc. in the execution of work
7. Consulting with company employees on issues of methods of operation
8. Studying of design and engineering drawings and specifications to determine costs of work, and developing cost plans as part of budgetary control measures
9. Collecting and analysing data associated with projects undertaken, and preparing reports on same
10. Monitoring changes to designs, assessing effects on cost, negotiating variations with clients
11. Drawing up of safe work method statements
12. Ensuring adherence to relevant legislation, standards of performance, quality, environmental and safety
13. Overseeing the standard and progress of subcontractors’ work

Skills and Abilities:

1. Holds relevant third level qualifications
2. Experience in transport and utilities infrastructure industry
3. Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
4. High level of written and oral communications
5. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Project Management software, including advanced understanding of Auto Cad design software
6. Ability to carry out directions from team leader & collaborate with team members
7. Communicate issues of concerns suggesting changes and improvements
8. Awareness of the requirements of fellow and subordinate staff members
9. Ability to successfully delegate duties to other staff while maintaining high standard of operation
