Overview
One of our Federal Government clients is seeking Product Owners as part of some of their recent long-term initiatives. You will be accountable for maximizing the value of the product by ensuring the team's backlog of work is aligned with customer and stakeholder needs. You will be the scrum team's primary advocate for the program's various stakeholders.
Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be Australian Citizens to be found suitable.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Understanding and articulating customer and stakeholder needs and expectations, identifying problems and developing whole-product solutions.
- Arranging for obtaining user and stakeholder feedback, testing benefit hypotheses, evolving solution design, and sharing feedback with the Agile Release Train (ART).
- Contributing to the Change Program vision and relevant roadmaps; representing the end user.
- Collaborating with business and the scrum team to deliver value and build the right thing, managing and prioritizing the scrum team's backlog of items, guiding story creation and acceptance, and supporting the architectural runway.
Other key activities include:
- Educating and influencing business area staff about what's desirable, viable, and feasible.
- Ensuring scrum team members understand user needs rather than taking a 'tech easy' approach.
- Providing a well-refined and ordered product backlog that scrum team members can pull from.
- Establishing and maintaining a product roadmap to guide development work, ensuring content in Dev Ops is complete and sufficient in detail.
- Taking a lead role in facilitating discussions in PI Planning events and being open and transparent in identifying, managing, or escalating issues, dependencies, risks, duplication, and opportunities for re-use with other Product Owners, scrum team members, and staff across the broader Change Program.
