About the opportunity The Victorian Government’s North East Link Program is Victoria’s biggest road project that will fix the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network. The project will connect the Eastern Freeway to the M80 Ring Road with new twin tunnels, taking 15,000 trucks a day off local roads, slashing travel times by up to 35 minutes and create new open spaces and walking and cycling connections for local communities. The project includes a massive overhaul of the Eastern Freeway, creating new express lanes and Melbourne’s first dedicated busway with two new park and ride facilities improving access to public transport in the eastern suburbs. Laing O’Rourke are working with North East Link Program, Symal, Arcadis and WSP to develop and deliver value-for-money engineering solutions for North East Link Program’s South Package, which includes Eastern Freeway upgrades between Burke Road and Tram Road including major bridge upgrades, road upgrades, lane duplications, a new interchange connecting to the North East Link Tunnels and new and upgraded walking and cycling connections and open spaces. About the role We are currently seeking a Plant Superintendents to join us on the North East Link South Alliance. Key responsibilities You will be responsible for, and not limited to; providing input into the master construction plan Managing a team on-site to achieve project objectives, and planning and programming daily construction activities. Additionally, you will lead section meetings and review progress in productivity and achievement of commercial requirements, contribute to the contract review process and ensure effective implementation of Laing O’Rourke’s project management systems and procedures. About you A relevant trade qualification combined with significant construction delivery experience in the construction/infrastructure industry A collaborative style of leadership and effective communication both written and oral Have excellent client interface, coordination, time management and safety leadership skills Ability to manage a large team demonstrating our project values.
