Band 5 - $37.96 - $42.78 excluding superannuation

As our Health and Wellbeing Planning Officer, you'll be instrumental in translating strategy into meaningful action on the ground, reporting directly to the Community Wellbeing Coordinator.
Your role will involve:

Strategic Action: Contributing to the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Council's strategic plans and priorities for health and wellbeing.

Community Engagement & Empowerment: Effectively engaging with community groups and networks, empowering our residents to be actively involved in civic life and influence key plans and strategies.

Building Community Resilience: through collaborative partnerships with internal teams, external agencies, and community organisations, including assisting with municipal recovery efforts during and post-emergency events.

Partnership and Planning: Building trusted partnerships to plan, implement, and report on key projects. This includes facilitating and supporting our outlying communities to increase inclusion, resilience, and participation.

Advocacy for All: Engaging with groups and networks representing marginalised community members to ensure their needs and aspirations are understood and integrated into our planning.

Reporting and Compliance: Providing reports against the Council Plan, Action Plan, and the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan.

Continuous Improvement: Encouraging innovation and supporting organisational development and continuous improvement initiatives within the Council. What We're Looking For: About You

Skills & Experience: Demonstrated skills and practical experience in community development, community engagement, inclusion, and strategic planning, preferably within health promotion.

Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively, build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, and thrive as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Rural Focus: An understanding of health and wellbeing issues experienced in rural communities is highly valued.

Organisational: Excellent time management skills, including the ability to prioritise work independently to meet deadlines.

Qualifications: A relevant qualification in health promotion or community development is desirable, alongside a current Australian Driver's Licence.
