About you

We are looking for Service Mechanic working the 11 - 7 pm shift based in South Melbourne, Victoria.

In this role, you will work closely with other Installers, Electricians, Adjusters, Trade Assistants, Field Engineers, and Construction Coordinators.

• Permanent role and reports to the Operations and Service Manager
• Shift - 11 pm to 7 pm

• Ensures that all units within their area of responsibility are regularly maintained in accordance with contractual obligations and the Company's maintenance policies.
• Carries out repairs and replaces parts prior to any deterioration of performance safety.
• Undertakes an active role in selling goods and services of Otis Elevator Company Pty Limited in a coordinating role with the new sales and service sales departments in Melbourne.
• Maintains a twenty-four hour service for Otis equipment in their area of responsibility providing prompt attention to reported problems.
• Carries out annual survey and safety tests in conjunction with the Melbourne Service Supervisor and in accordance with Company policies. Recommends all repair and other work necessary to improve the installation.
• Ensures that the image of Otis Elevator Company Pty Limited is held in high esteem by paying attention to their appearance and behaviour.
• Develops relationships with other contractors in the area to assist in meeting Business goals.
• Maintains Company tools, equipment and material in good order and safeguards such property against damage or theft.
• Responsible for complying with company Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures including reporting any conditions which may impact on the environment or any employee.
• Maintain and work to the Quality System including procedures and manuals. Identify process improvement opportunities and help facilitate continuous improvement to satisfy the customers of your processes.

Working relationships

• Reports directly to the Melbourne Service Supervisor.
• Takes direction from the Branch Manager, VIC in the absence of the Melbourne Service Supervisor.
• Represents the Company and needs to maintain cordial relationships with customers, suppliers, government and regulatory bodies, industry associations, and the public in the Melbourne area.

What you need to be successful

• Trade qualifications as an electrical fitter/mechanic with additional studies in electronics.
• A minimum of two years proven successful experience in elevator maintenance.
• Be self-motivated and able to operate with minimal supervision.
• Current electrical license.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills and the ability to deal with and influence both customers and colleagues/peers.
