As a 2nd year House Officer or Senior House Officer you will have the opportunity for 3 to 6 month rotations in the following specialities in hospital and community:
- Surgery
- ENT
- Ophthalmology
- Orthopaedics
- Surgical Relief
- Medical Relief
- Emergency Medicine
- Obstetrics and Gynaecology
- Psychiatry
- Paediatrics
- Geriatric Medicine including outpatient clinics
Role Duties and Responsibilities
- You will work under the delegated authority of a consultant and perform tasks and duties allocated to you.
- You will provide appropriate assessment , diagnosis and management of patients presenting to the hospital
- Maintain up to date legible and accurate clinical records
- Maintain a high standard of communication with patients, patients' families and staff.
- Participate in on call rotas as required
Essential Role Requirements

- Eligible for provisional or full general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
