The Role

Senior Microsoft 365 Engineering Consultant.

As a Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day health, performance, and uplift of Microsoft 365 environments for Cyconsol's internal systems and our clients. You'll work closely with your Managing Consultant and Service Delivery Manager on strategic initiatives, major incidents, and continuous improvement.

An engineer that works for us must be able to understand client operational requirements, security better practice and defined project scope to deliver solutions that meet and exceed expectations. We would like work to align with our culture of delivering solutions that are valued by our customers and result in reduced overhead over the life of the system.

As a Senior, you are expected to be able to self-manage your workload, lead and mentor junior staff and communicate appropriately to senior leadership, clients and other external stakeholders.

The role will require the candidate to lead and provide input into M365 based designs and architectures, develop and deliver proof-of-concept solutions, configure and maintain client production systems and troubleshoot and resolve issues as needed. We operate in a mixed regulatory environment across public, private and non-for-profit sectors so there is a necessity to keep up to date and understand the requirements of the environments you are working from.

About you:

You have at least 3 years of experience supporting and maintaining Microsoft 365 environments (Entra, Teams, Exchange Online, Share Point, Intune, Purview).

You must be an Australian Citizen and hold a current AGSVA security clearance, ideally at Negative Vetting 1 (NV1).

You can work autonomously and collaboratively with a team both in-person and remotely.

You can analyse, distil and communicate complex information to a wide range of audiences including technical and non-technical stakeholders - you can explain things in plain English.

You are comfortable in researching and prototyping cloud-based solutions.

You have demonstrated experience in applying ITIL principles and practices to manage and improve IT service delivery.

You have strong documentation skills, including the ability to create clear, precise, and maintainable configuration and operational documentation.

You hold certifications or qualifications which complement your expertise such as Microsoft Azure, M365, ITIL Foundations or other vendors.

You are autonomous in your learning, always looking to learn new concepts and technology sets and keeping up with industry changes.

You enjoy mentoring and inspiring others.

You uphold the values of quality, integrity and professionalism in the work you do.

Desirable:

You have experience working with federal or state Government entities.

You have experience in an MSP, integrator or similarly broad environment.

You have knowledge and experience in the application of common security frameworks and standards such as ISO27001, ISM, PSPF and the Essential Eight.
