About the office/school

The People and Culture is a team of strategic HR professionals providing client focused, proactive and effective solutions and services for all UNDA employees. This position works in the Organisational Development and Health, Safety & Wellbeing (OD & HSW) team and reports to the Director (OD & HSW).

About the role

You will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing strategies, programs and initiatives that foster a diverse, inclusive and engaged workplace culture and support the delivery of OD & HSW priorities. You will assist with providing expert advice and guidance on diversity and inclusion, and employee engagement and experience matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, implement and review diversity, inclusion and engagement strategies, programs, plans and initiatives to foster a diverse, inclusive and engaged workforce.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on diversity, inclusion, employee experience and engagement policies, procedures, processes and matters.
  • Manage the implementation of diversity and inclusion strategies, programs, policies and initiatives, including, but not limited to, equal employment opportunity and prevention of discrimination, training and awareness raising events and other opportunities.
  • Coordinate the submission of the University's annual WGEA report, collaborating across People and Culture to obtain the required workforce data, analyse results and implement recommendations.
  • Manage the implementation of the employee experience and engagement strategy and roadmap, including project managing survey design, implementation, reporting, analysis, communications and resources.
  • Monitor and report on workforce demographics and employee experience survey results to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend initiatives in partnership with other People and Culture teams.
  • Support OD & HSW projects such as leadership and capability development, wellbeing, indigenous employment, culture and workforce planning and design.
Qualifications, skills & experience
  • A degree qualification in human resources and significant experience in human resources and diversity and inclusion, or an equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Experience in the design, delivery and evaluation of diversity and inclusion strategies, policies, programs, plans and initiatives.
  • Experience in managing or taking a lead role in implementing employee experience and/or engagement surveys, initiatives or similar.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent project management skills and a demonstrated ability to deliver outcomes.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how improvements in diversity, inclusion and employee experience outcomes in the workplace can enhance employee engagement and productivity.
  • Ability to effectively utilise online reporting and surveying tools, analyse workforce data and management information to produce reports and inform recommendations.
  • Excellent corporate writing skills, with the ability to effectively tailor messages to audiences.
