Job Description
Reporting to the Engineering Manager and working closely with Operations, the role is a 50/50 split between sustaining engineering and NPI:
- Sustaining engineering - running up to 10 small projects such as small factory changes, minor design updates, etc. - review quality issues and provide technical support
- NPI - larger mechanical projects - modification and enhancement projects to products
- Very project-driven and working with internal and external resources
The Successful Applicant
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering
- 5 years minimum experience in mechanical engineering either in manufacturing (medical devices or mining would be great) or product automation
- Project management experience
- Experience with creating engineering drawings/drafting (Solidworks preferred but can be Creo or Iventa)
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to be hands-on
- Lean/Six Sigma training/exposure will be highly regarded
