Applications are invited for the ongoing full-time role of Community Engagement Officer within the Office of Dai Le MP. This role is based in Cabramatta, NSW.

The Office of Dai Le MP, Independent Member for Fowler is looking for an initiative-taking and community focused individual to join our team! Team Le is unlike any other political office; we take our team’s mental health and wellbeing seriously – you will have the opportunity to participate in weekly team bonding activities such as boxing and yoga.

It is highly desirable the candidate will have prior electorate experience at either a Federal and/or State level of Government.

*Tasks and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: *

* Assisting with tasks and diary management that oversee the electorate office
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with local stakeholders
* Organise events to facilitate collaboration and dialogue on relevant issues
* Identify and deploy technological solutions to community engagement needs
* Maintain and develop a consistent community engagement program
* Assist in implementing and maintaining a Grants Strategy and Communication plan to maximise opportunities for community organisations.
* Coordinate and undertake strategic and operational activities involving constituents
* Assist with some HR aspects of the office in consultation with the MP and Office Manager.
* Assist in establishing information systems to capture and communicate important electoral information
* Attend events and functions with and on behalf of the Member as required
* Monitor issues affecting the electorate and keep the Member informed (regular summary briefings via documents and face to face information);
* Management of incoming and outgoing communication (experience or willingness to learn both the franking and folding machine will be required)
* Other tasks as directed by the Office Manager & Member
* Occasional Intrastate and Interstate Travel for sitting weeks and community engagement

*Selection Criteria*

* Work experience and/or qualifications in community and stakeholder engagement at a mid-senior level in a change management, political, engagement, or facilitation role.
* Experience in leading, planning, implementing, and evaluating quality projects or events
* Demonstrated effective interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and negotiation skills.
* Ability to communicate authentically and empathetically with people from culturally diverse backgrounds and with varying support needs
* Ability to work in a diverse team environment and having an inclusive mindset
* Ability to work autonomously
* Excellent time management and organisational skills
* Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, consult and network with members of the community, diverse cultural community groups, and Government agencies
* An understanding of integrated marketing strategies
* An understanding or willingness to learn Parliamentary procedures and processes.
* Current drivers licence

*Employment conditions *
The position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 and conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2020-2023.

* A commencing salary between $69,170 and $80,757will be paid.
* An optional additional allowance may be payable in recognition of, and as compensation for, reasonable additional hours of work.
* An employer contribution of 15.4% superannuation will also be payable.

A probationary period of three (3) months will apply and may be subject to extension.
