Work in a team-based setting, operating various equipment and/or performing tasks that contribute to the production of high-quality produce. Ensuring production targets are met in a timely fashion while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with a team to manufacture high-quality fresh fruit & vegetable items for the food service and retail markets.
Learn to use dicers, cutters, slicers, shredders, and packaging equipment.
Help ensure that the quality and freshness of produce are always maintained throughout the department.
Employee must follow company policy regarding the production of food items and the proper use of equipment. Including:
Preparation of all production products, including processing mixes, cut sizes and equipment needed.
Clean and sanitize production areas between product switchovers and at shift end.
Equipment safety.
Critical Control Points of bleach and sulphites.
Must understand and work within all HACCP policies and procedures.
Operate or perform other duties as directed by the Production Manager/Assistant Manager/Supervisor. SCHEDULE Flexible but will include weekends. QUALIFICATIONS
(Minimum acceptable qualifications, experience & personal qualities required by the job holder)
Ability to safely bend, twist and lift to 50 lbs.
Ability to walk and stand for the duration of the scheduled shift.
Ability to learn and apply knife skills.
Ability to work in a refrigerated environment REQUIRED (will be provided by Islands West if needed) Food Safe Level 1
