The opportunity Our VIC Water team is currently looking to hire a Senior or Associate Hydrogeologist. You will be based in our Melbourne CBD office, with the option to work from home 2-3 days per week (if desired). Our hydrogeologists apply scientific knowledge and analysis to understand groundwater-related issues, including assessing the quantity and quality of groundwater through data gathering, interpretation, conceptualisation and modelling. Some of the projects you may be involved in include Oil & Gas, Site Closure and Infrastructure. Recent projects include: Clean up so far as practicable reporting to achieve regulatory closure at a former manufacturing site Groundwater inflow assessment for the design of major underground road tunnelling projects Groundwater pumping tests to assess groundwater availability for ecological benefit Implementation of phytoremediation to remediate PFAS impacts Conceptualisation, modelling and groundwater impact characterisation at a refinery What you’ll do Undertake/lead hydrogeological investigations and assessments Site investigation planning and coordination Analyse and interpret hydrogeological data Prepare technical reports Provide specialist hydrogeological advice Mentor junior hydrogeologists and foster a culture of continuous learning Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders About you You're likely to have 5-10 years of experience in hydrogeology within an engineering or environmental consultancy. You will also bring: Proven track record of leading successful hydrogeological projects Strong commitment to SHEQ, mental health and developing a safe workspace for everyone Exceptional communication (written and verbal)Developing leadership skills and experience in managing project teams Experience with industry software packages, such as Esdat, Aquachem, Aquasolve, GIS, Surfer etc. will be highly regarded Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geosciences, Environmental Science/engineering, or a related field You will be joining a dedicated team of hydrogeologists in VIC whilst being connected to hydrogeologists throughout Australia and across our global offices.
