The position of General Manager - Operations at Mackay Sugar is a senior executive role with overarching responsibility for enhancing the short, medium, and long-term performance across our group of three factories, encompassing the Cogeneration power plant and Cane Supply Logistics. This pivotal role requires strategic leadership to optimize operational efficiency, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure the highest standards of safety and quality are maintained throughout our operations. As a key member of our leadership team, the General Manager - Operations will play a crucial role in shaping the future success and sustainability of Mackay Sugar. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in Engineering with proven experience in managerial roles, ideally within operational or manufacturing settings. Previous experience in the sugar industry is beneficial but not essential for this role. The ideal candidate will have led significant change management initiatives, demonstrating expertise in organisational design and productivity enhancements. This role requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, adept at developing and motivating teams at all levels.
