As Manager – People & Performance, you will have end‑to‑end responsibility for the Perth office people function, while contributing to national people projects and initiatives. You will be a key adviser to partners and managers on workforce planning, productivity, talent, employee relations, organisational development and culture. This role offers a great opportunity to influence how the firm attracts, develops and retains great people.
Key responsibilities:
Strategic people leadership
Partner with senior leaders to implement and embed the firm’s people strategy
Provide trusted, pragmatic advice on emerging people trends, risks and opportunities
Coach and support partners and managers to be effective people leaders
Lead workforce planning and talent initiatives aligned to current and future needs
Employee & industrial relations
Manage complex employee relations matters including performance, grievances and disciplinary processes
Ensure compliance with relevant Commonwealth and Western Australian employment legislation
Apply sound judgement, discretion and commercial insight.
Talent acquisition & workforce planning
Design and deliver recruitment strategies that attract high‑calibre and diverse talent
Position the Perth office as an employer of choice in a competitive market
Partner with leaders to ensure sustainable capability and capacity planning
Wellbeing, safety & culture
Promote a safe, inclusive and mentally healthy workplace
Support wellbeing initiatives, return‑to‑work and injury management processes
Foster a performance‑driven culture aligned to the firm’s values
Remuneration, governance & compliance
Contribute to remuneration and benefits frameworks, including market benchmarking
Ensure people policies and practices are compliant and fit for purpose
Maintain oversight of people risk and governance frameworks
About you
You are a seasoned People & Culture leader who enjoys working in a complex, professional environment and is confident advising at senior levels.
You will bring:
A relevant tertiary qualification in HR, employment law, business or a related field
Significant progressive experience in a senior HR / People & Performance role
Strong working knowledge of Australian employment law, including the Fair Work framework and WA legislation
Proven experience translating strategy into practical, high‑impact people initiatives
A track record of coaching and influencing senior leaders
Excellent stakeholder engagement, judgement and discretion
Strong analytical and commercial acumen
A collaborative, pragmatic and solutions‑focused leadership style
Comfort using data and modern tools (including AI platforms) to enhance people outcomes
