About the role
As Maintenance Supervisor at Vibe Hotel Adelaide, you demonstrate enthusiasm and flair for providing exemplary guest service by embracing the "Go MAD" philosophy. You will be responsible for managing all processes within the maintenance and engineering department, directly overseeing the implementation of all preventative maintenance scheduling and planning of expenditure as determined and outlined. The property has 187 rooms and a massive floor plan; the role is hands-on, tools-on, and very independent.
To be successful in this role you should:
- Respond and attend to guest repair requests and welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipating and addressing their needs.
- Understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
- Communicate with different types of people to comprehend their needs and provide them with information and assistance.
- Check for new maintenance requests from the PMS (Property Management System) and update remarks once the task is completed.
- Update the maintenance work order form / job card and file them.
- Ability to interpret readings from meters, gauges, and other measuring units.
- Ability to work under pressure and exercise good judgment.
- Perform maintenance activities in hotel public areas, such as plunging toilets, unclogging drains, and repairing all types of hardware, plumbing, and electrical equipment, as well as cosmetic items.
- Perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties and be able to work independently.
- Operate as an independent mechanic by analyzing problems, identifying courses of action, and implementing solutions with available resources and to a high degree of quality.
- Be available for any emergencies and act in an engineering capacity to protect guests and associates, and preserve the building and its systems during emergencies.
- Be able to repair walls, maintain a swimming pool, garden areas, plant rooms, AC filtration, check and maintain function rooms, and deal with subcontractors. Experience in plumbing is an added advantage.
- The role is sometimes on call.
Who can APPLY:
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience, preferably with building management experience (e.g., aged care), not necessarily from a hotel background.
- Candidates must have experience maintaining a garden, managing a pool, and a strong preference for pool operator's certification.
- Possess appropriate Industry Trade Qualification.
- Occupational Health & Safety qualifications/skills.
- Testing & tagging licenses are not essential but advantageous.
