About the Role As a Maintenance Officer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the village remains safe, functional, and visually appealing. Reporting to the Village Manager, you’ll handle day-to-day maintenance tasks, coordinate repairs, and maintain the community’s outdoor spaces. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys variety and working independently. Key Responsibilities Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of buildings, facilities, and equipment. Respond promptly to maintenance requests, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently. Maintain the village gardens, mow lawns, and carry out general landscaping duties. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and manage inventory of tools and supplies. Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and external contractors. Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety (WH&S) standards and risk management practices. What We’re Looking For Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good physical fitness, including the ability to lift and move items up to 15 kg. Desirable Qualifications Previous experience in retirement living, property maintenance, or facility management. Certification in a relevant trade (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrical).
