Gundjeihmi Aboriginal Corporation Jabiru Town Jabiru, Katherine & Northern Australia NTGundjeihmi Aboriginal Corporation Jabiru Town (GACJT) holds the township lease over Jabiru. GACJT administers sub-leases and licences for the many businesses and government services located in Jabiru. GACJT is an Indigenous corporation whose members are the Mirarr People, the Traditional Owners and Native Title Holders for Jabiru. The existence of GACJT ensures that income from the township lease benefits the Mirarr’s economic and community development. It is incorporated under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 (Cth). It is essential to GACJT that its strategic direction aligns with and allows for the achievement of the aspirations of the traditional owners to protect culture and to ensure that Bininj are in control of their country and the future of Jabiru. Qualifications & experience Strong judgement and track record of delivering tasks and initiatives according to business needs. Proven leadership ability and integrity with high levels of accountability, flexibility and self-motivation. Ability to motivate direct reports and partners to drive success. Advanced understanding of business planning and regulatory needs. High level analytical, interpersonal and communication skills including experience in resolving conflict, negotiating and providing solutions in a complex working environment. Understanding and knowledge of Aboriginal cultures and contemporary policy issues at local, regional, and national levels. Current Northern Territory ‘C’ Class manual driver’s licence. Criminal History Check and Working with Children card (if requested). Five or more years of experience in senior leadership roles (desirable). Exceptional project management skills (desirable). High-order problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly get to the root of an issue (desirable). Experience working with Aboriginal organisations (desirable). Experience working in a remote location (desirable). Experience in the not-for-profit sector (desirable). Tasks & responsibilities Oversee company operations and employee productivity in the Jabiru office, to build a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive and that organisational goals are met. Collaborate with the CEO in driving the organisation’s vision and operational outputs. Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, supervision and retention of Jabiru-based employees. Provide advice and support to the Chief Executive Officer to deliver projects relating to the implementation of the Jabiru Masterplan and the resolution of complex tenure issues in Jabiru. Develop and maintain positive working relationships, including with the Mirarr and government and non-government stakeholders. Undertake consultations as required across stakeholder groups, including the Mirarr, community organisations, and government and non-government stakeholders. Prepare written documentation, including project reports, business cases, briefs, and other correspondence as required by the CEO. Act as CEO for particular functions when the CEO is on leave. Deliver other agreed projects/tasks as delegated by the CEO. Housing in Jabiru provided. Six weeks annual leave. Vehicle.
