With such a deep understanding of our goals and values, we provide practical and commercial advice when it’s needed most. About the role - Part time Drive strategic direction of litigated claims including improved outcomes on common law claims and complex statutory claims to reduce workers compensation liabilities, manage reputational risk and minimise the impact of workplace injury at Coles. You’ll also: Maintain strong professional knowledge of workers compensation compliance and common law/lump sum settlement trends in relevant States. Drive and manage litigation cases, reporting progress and outcomes to internal stakeholders. Manage relationships within the legal panel to achieve targeted outcomes. Facilitate business understanding of lessons learnt from each case. Build the capability of the claims team to identify claims with legal potential early and manage effectively. Understand and articulate state legislative and regulatory requirements for worker’s compensation and self-insurance. Take full accountability for the management of the litigation of workers compensation claims (with support from others for ongoing payments and interactions with team members during the process). Develop a thorough understanding of each Coles Group Business with respect to their operations and needs and establish strong relationships with key stakeholders. About you and your skills Proven experience in litigated claims management environment and relevant legislative frameworks. Strong experience in workers compensation law or personal injuries law. Understanding of key regulatory and statutory insurance obligations. Experience in risk management. Experience in managing a team is highly desirable. Defendant/Insurance background is highly desirable. Five years PAE lawyer. Take your next step into something bigger, apply now.
