The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join their well-regarded legal team in Sydney. This role offers a rare opportunity to provide strategic legal support across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure, services, and asset management projects.

As Senior Legal Counsel, you will work closely with commercial, operational, and project teams to support the delivery of complex, long-term service contracts and infrastructure solutions. This includes advising on Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), outsourced service arrangements, and multidisciplinary infrastructure projects that are central to the organisation’s national footprint.

Key responsibilities include:

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial and project agreements, including PPPs, long-term maintenance and operations contracts, and subcontractor arrangements
• Providing legal advice on procurement processes, risk allocation, project structuring, and compliance matters
• Supporting the legal aspects of major bids and tenders, including interaction with government agencies and consortia partners
• Advising on contract delivery, performance issues, and claims management, with a strong focus on dispute avoidance and commercial resolution

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of PAE (Post Admission Experience) from a reputable law firm or in-house role, with extensive experience in front-end legal work and project delivery within the infrastructure sector.

Key attributes include:

• Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex construction and infrastructure contracts.
• Practical experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects, with a focus on front-end matters across bids and tenders
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• A proactive and adaptable mindset, able to navigate and resolve complex challenges.
• Capability to work independently and excel in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
