Title: Insurance Coordinator

Rate: $65-75 per hour plus Super (depending on relevant experience)

Hours: Full-time

Location: East Perth, WA

Duration: 6 months

Type: Temporary casual contract (no leave entitlements – casual loadingincin rate)

Key Accountabilities

Coordinates, administers and monitors the insurance risk and compliance function.
Provides high-level support and advice for insurance matters.
Undertakes high-level research and complex analysis of insurance and financial issues, evaluates findings, develops options and prepares high quality reports.
Analyses insurance information (premiums and claims) and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
Conducts risk assessments of insurable risks and provides consultative support to stakeholders in the implementation of risk mitigating strategies.
Provides regular, effective reporting on insurance and compliance data and information.
Establishes and maintains a central source of information for all agency insurance claims and ensures a systematic and uniform approach to claims management across the agency.
Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders such as Risk Cover and insurance companies to understand insurance requirements, respond to queries and manage claim disputes.
Maintains an up-to-date knowledge and awareness of trends associated with insurance risk management and compliance strategies and frameworks.
Undertakes claims management processes, including resolution of complex disputes and coordination with insurers.

Essential Criteria

Understanding of insurance principles, processes and governance: Undertaking insurance governance, claims management and risk mitigation. Developing, implementing and evaluating an agency-wide insurance risk governance program. Understanding all aspects of program governance. Providing support in the implementation of risk mitigation strategies.
Planning and organisational skills: Formulating, documenting and implementing governance processes. Managing competing priorities and working autonomously.
Communication and interpersonal skills: Providing advice and guidance to various stakeholders. Establishing and maintaining relationships and partnerships. Preparing reports and liaising extensively on insurance compliance matters and resolving issues.
Risk management skills: Applying risk management principles and procedures, ensuring compliance with statutory and government requirements. Dealing with insurance risk management.
Analytical and conceptual skills: Conceptualising and analysing issues relevant to insurance risk management. Interrogating problems and developing and implementing effective solutions.
