Job Description Purpose of your role The Business Analyst position is a key role that is responsible for applying analytical solutions to problems and existing processes with the aim to increase effectiveness through technology solutions. This role plays an integral part in bridging the gap between Technology, Product and the Business using data analytics to assess processes and determine requirements that will allow Technology delivery teams to effectively meet business needs. An ability to produce documentation (in a timely manner) that supports either product or project teams to achieve outcomes, using different delivery methodologies is an important part of the role, so a blend of experience is important particularly in terms of agile delivery. The initial focus will be working on an onboarding project, which will involve migration of corporate customers to a new compliance workflow system, and onboarding journey optimization. This work will include integration with various other systems including, customer due diligence workflow systems, CRM system, and other backend systems. You will be providing business expertise and practical solution delivery experience to ensure that the team you are working with consistently delivers quality software that meets user product requirements and acceptance criteria. The role will support dependency management and help to remove impediments that are preventing the team from accomplishing its goals. This role is within a fast-moving team and will involve working with some ambiguity to achieve objectives, so you must be comfortable with that. As such you will be expected to take initiative and display strong communication and time-management skills to facilitate meetings that ensure teams and stakeholders are aligned on the outcomes. What you do Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats Conduct gap analysis on APIs from old platforms to understand what can be exposed Work closely with UX team to define new UI providing a multi-layered single platform with a single entry to different business products Identify problems within the business, including using data modelling techniques, constructing workflow diagrams, studying system capabilities, writing specifications Communicate with people at all levels of the organisation to determine how technology solutions can meet business needs Oversee the implementation of new technology and systems, including enhancements and support conducting of UAT to ensure what has been developed is in line with business requirements Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from underlying true business needs Produce detailed functional/non functional requirements that could include user stories, wireframes, visualized workflows, business rules, data dictionary, models that could include sequence diagrams and process maps Document Swagger definitions and API specifications Maintain consistent and constant communication with stakeholders, in alignment with the PM or PO Work closely with the development team to ensure the right changes are delivered within the agreed timeframe Qualifications Relevant Business Analysis or IT degree Knowledge, skills, experience Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a Business Analysis role Experience in Financial or payment services company preferred Experience working on customer Onboarding journeys and Customer Due Diligence systems preferred Solid knowledge of modelling frameworks and methodologies such BPMN and UML (Sequence Diagrams, Use Case modelling and Activity diagrams) Extensive Process Mapping experience essential Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles ideal Basic SQL knowledge or ability to write SQL queries and perform data analysis and data mapping between different systems Experience wireframing and creating mock-up screens, using wireframing tools and working closely with UX/UI designers Basic understanding of REST APIs and Microservices Basic knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman Ability to write user stories, perform backlog grooming and create artifacts to support technical teams Experience working in digital area & in client/consumer facing products and projects Solid stakeholder management experience Commercial awareness Communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication Problem-solving and analytical skills An interest in, and understanding of, project delivery techniques (Agile, project management etc) and computing systems Being detail-oriented and capable of delivering a high level of accuracy Proven ability to drive technology teams to deliver results Extremely well organised with strong time-management skills Work well under pressure Demonstrated experience working on Scrum squads and/or Kanban based products Ability to work independently and within a team Ability to think on your feet and learn quickly Knowledge of and significant experience working with Jira and Confluence is required Collaborative style A good sense of humour Additional Information What it's like working at OFX We’re OFXers because we want to make a difference.
