We are seeking a capable and commercially minded HR Generalist to join our Sydney-based team. This role will provide comprehensive human resources support across the employee lifecycle, contractor governance and workers’ compensation management, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and alignment with organisational objectives. The Opportunity Reporting to HR leadership, this role partners closely with managers and key stakeholders to deliver effective, pragmatic and compliant HR services. You will operate as a trusted advisor, supporting operational leaders while ensuring best-practice people management frameworks are upheld. This is a broad generalist position suited to an experienced HR professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is confident managing both operational and compliance-driven responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Recruitment & Workforce Planning Manage end-to-end recruitment and selection processes Coordinate onboarding and induction programs to ensure seamless integration Maintain recruitment reporting and workforce metrics Employee Relations & Advisory Provide sound advice to managers on employment legislation, policies and workplace matters Support the management and resolution of employee relations matters Promote consistent application of policies and procedures Performance & Capability Development Support performance review cycles and goal-setting frameworks Assist in identifying capability gaps and facilitating development initiatives HR Governance, Compliance & Reporting Ensure compliance with Fair Work legislation, Modern Awards and relevant industrial instruments Maintain and review HR policies and documentation Prepare regular HR reporting including workforce analytics, turnover and leave data Contractor Governance & Compliance Oversee contractor engagement processes in accordance with governance frameworks Ensure correct worker classification and mitigate risk exposure Verify compliance documentation including insurances, licences and right-to-work requirements Maintain contractor registers and support internal and external audit processes Manage contractor offboarding and contract closure Manage workers’ compensation claims in line with legislative obligations Coordinate return-to-work and injury management programs Liaise with insurers, medical practitioners and leadership teams Monitor claims trends and support risk mitigation initiatives Maintain accurate records to support compliance and premium management HR Operations & WHSMaintain accurate employee records within HRIS systems Draft employment contracts and formal correspondence Support HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives Promote a proactive, safety-focused culture aligned with WHS obligations About You You are a confident and credible HR professional with strong technical expertise and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a HR Generalist or HR Officer capacity Demonstrated knowledge of Australian employment legislation and HR best practice Strong interpersonal, advisory and stakeholder management skills Proven ability to manage competing priorities within a fast-paced environment Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Sound judgement and strong problem-solving capability Experience supporting organisational change initiatives Exposure to payroll processes Experience driving employee engagement programs Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
