Groundsperson/greenkeeper, Hornsby

As a greenkeeper/groundsperson at this prestigious private school site in Pymble, you will be part of a high performing team who maintain and enhance turf areas across the campus ensuring they remain lush, healthy, and resilient.

Reporting to the Site Manager, this hands-on role will see you implementing sustainable practices in your work and delivering exceptional results. Responsibilities

Perform regular maintenance tasks such as mowing, aerating, and topdressing to uphold the quality and playability of turf surfaces.
Monitor turf health and proactively address issues such as pests, diseases, and compaction through appropriate cultural and chemical practices.
Implement sustainable turf management practices, including water conservation strategies, and pest management techniques.
Operate and maintain specialised turf equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Collaborate with the landscaping team to coordinate maintenance schedules, prioritise tasks, and deliver exceptional results.
Communicate effectively with clients to understand their expectations, address concerns, and provide turf care recommendations. Benefits

You hold a Certificate III in Sports Turf Management or Horticulture and have worked previously in a turf management, greenkeeping or similar role. Although not an absolute necessity if you have experience maintaining cricket wickets this will be looked upon very favourably.

You take pride in your work and have a keen eye for detail. You enjoy working hard to achieve exceptional outcomes for your customer.

You are familiar with the safe operation of turf care equipment and machinery, including, but not limited to, mowers, aerators and sprayers.

You are willing to apply your knowledge of turfgrass species, growth habits, and maintenance requirements and share this knowledge amongst the team.
