Unit/Division: Public Health Division - Environmental Health We currently have a Permanent Full-Time position available. Position Profile: We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic person to join our Environmental Health - Water department. As the Senior Scientific Officer, you will prepare reports, conduct surveys, and provide advice in specialist areas of water in relation to public and environmental health. You will be responsible for liaising with and providing specialist advice to local government, industry, and the community on policy, legislation, and related water quality and safety issues. Your key responsibilities will include: Under limited direction, conduct surveys, reports, and provide expert advice and make recommendations in relation to water quality and safety. Liaise with and provide specialist advice to local government and industry on policy, legislation, and related water quality and safety issues. Coordinate specialist water quality and safety management issue support, and other support as required. Provide complex technical and legislative advice to State and Local Government, industry clients, and the general public on water safety and quality. Prepare correspondence and research and prepare responses to ministerial correspondence, parliamentary questions, and cabinet submissions. Review policies, legislation, and standards and where appropriate make recommendations on amendments to legislation.
