Description
Central Australian Aboriginal Congress (Congress) is currently looking for a caring and committed doctor to be an integral part of a newly set up multidisciplinary team at the Alice Springs Youth Detention Centre.
Note: Vocational registration is not required.
Base Salary: $207,909 - $228,949 (p.a.) pro-rata
Total Effective Package: $250,045 - $273,824 (p.a.)*pro-rata

About the role
Congress is establishing a therapeutic team to provide comprehensive and holistic care to young people currently in youth detention, aimed at positively impacting the young person's experience in detention, as well as addressing any health issues.
The position is part time (0.5 FTE) and the successful doctor will become part of the GP community within Congress as well as part of the team at the centre. This is an exciting opportunity to have a positive impact on the lives of many young people.
The General Practitioner (GP) provides culturally safe GP services within a comprehensive primary health care framework across all sections of Congress’ Health Services Division. The position works to the principles, values, and philosophy of Congress as an Aboriginal community-controlled health service.
