About the role In this role, you will grow the impact and influence of EA by building impactful relationships with the local engineering community, local members, office bearers, and volunteers. You will also work with other leaders across EA to ensure that the division is delivering on EA strategy. In this role you will: Grow the impact and influence of EA in your local state/territory. Grow the membership of the division by building EA’s local profile and impact and by ensuring members are engaged. Collaborate with leaders and stakeholders throughout EA (e.g., other Division General Managers, policy, advocacy, STEM, business growth, media, communications) to develop and deploy strategies and plans. Work with the Divisions team, Head of Divisions and others across EA to develop and implement a strategy, activity plan and stakeholder engagement plan for your local state/territory. This should include member recognition and engagement, local policy activity, local school engagement, local advocacy, media and communications activity, and industry roundtables. Support and collaborate with the Professional Development team on local event activity as appropriate. Celebrate and recognise members as they achieve membership milestones and professional credentials with EA. Represent EA at external forums, Boards and Committees to further our desired strategic outcomes. Support office bearers and volunteers in delivering impactful activity for EA, including partnering with the Division President and Committee. Ensure the effective financial management of the Division’s resources. Participate in EA’s strategic and financial planning. Here is what we are looking for: You have a background in professional services, membership associations, or volunteer-based organisations, supporting customers and stakeholders to have a fantastic experience. You will do well in this role if you enjoy being away from your desk, representing EA and driving outcomes through your influence and connections and if you prefer to collaborate over working alone. You have expertise in building relationships with senior people, internally and externally and in setting and delivering vision, strategy and plans. You are comfortable delivering and chairing/hosting meetings and events and with influencing and working across teams, without direct reporting line authority. You bring with you, or are excited to develop, a working knowledge of (non-technical) engineering matters. You have a background in delivering high quality experiences and services. Ideally you have experience in at least two of: member or customer service/engagement, policy, advocacy, media, STEM, industry engagement or corporate events.
