Essential Planner is a comprehensive financial planning business dedicated to their clients and part of the wider Essential Financial Group of Companies comprising of Financial Planning, Accounting, Mortgage Broking and Property Services.

We have been operating for more than 15 years and specialize in Superannuation, Retirement, Wealth Creation, Risk insurance and Self-managed superannuation funds. Because of our client focused business model, we have experienced a high amount of growth and are looking to expand with in-house team members.

Our offices are located on Scarborough Street Southport close to all dining, parking and shopping facilities.

We have different roles available with the view to grow your career and put your talents to best use and in the role that you will flourish in. We are seeking people that want to become Licensed Financial Planners in the financial planning industry and get paid based upon their skills & experience.

The Role/s

Financial Planner (Full time role)

Paraplanner (Full time role)

Associate Adviser / Professional year (Full time or outside University Hours part time)

Client services officer (Full time or part time role within school hours available)

All full time positions are on a 4 day work week! That's a long weekend forever!

Financial Adviser duties:

Initial consultation with new clients (note all clients have already signed up for financial advice already. There is no sales required.

Strategy meetings with the in house paraplanning team

Liaising with our in house client services team

Mentoring of Associate Advisors

Maintaining an ongoing client book

Ensuring you are fully compliant (note that we are self licensed under Essential Wealth Pty Ltd)

Statement of Advice presentations generally via zoom / in the boardroom. No travel requirement.

Annual client reviews / ad hoc advice

Generous bonus structure and ongoing trail retention available for committed team members

Associate Adviser duties:

Working directly with the financial planning team

Setting up superannuation funds

Lodging Insurance applications

Preparation of compliant Statements of Advice / Records of Advice

Paraplanning using Xplan technology

Researching model portfolios with the use of Morningstar

Conducting research for investment / insurance recommendations

Advice implementation

Completing annual client reviews

Processing client orders, such as new company formations, trusts or self-managed superannuation funds.

Experience, Skills and Qualification

Graduate (or final year) of Financial Planning (or relevant FASEA qualification)

Completing (or looking to complete) your Professional year to become a financial planner

High knowledge of financial planning

Good level of technical knowledge

You are an all-rounder with an ability to multitask

High academic achiever

Problem solver

Smart, Intelligent and an ability to grasp financial principles

High level of computer literacy

Math's (you are amazing at the calculator)

Office 365 - including Outlook, Word, Excel (Intermediate)

You want to be the new generation of financial planners

Paraplanner duties:

Producing a compliant Statement of Advice / Record of Advice

Researching model portfolios with the use of Xplan

Preparing documentation for meetings

Liaising with financial institutions on behalf of clients.

Ensuring client information is up to date and accurate

Assist with the development of financial strategies

Working closely with the senior advisor

Career progression into an adviser role if desired

Experience, Skills and Qualification

Experience in a paraplanning role within financial planning (highly rated)

Working towards your Diploma of Financial Services (or higher)

Have experience writing compliant SOA's and ROA's

Experienced with Superannuation & Insurance products

Have a high attention to detail

Have a high knowledge of financial planning strategies

The ideal client will be versed in Xplan with xtools (or other financial planning software)

We are open to a paraplanning traineeship for the right candidate (preferably graduate)

Smart, Intelligent and an ability to grasp financial principles

High level of computer literacy

Math's (you are amazing at the calculator)

Client services officer duties:

Handling client calls and emails, responding in a timely manner

Maintaining mail register

Lodging applications and preparing submissions for new business

Liaising with internal teams and colleagues to resolve problems and find solutions.

Creating and maintaining client files.

Liaising with financial institutions on behalf of clients.

Maintaining client workflows

Maintaining accurate client workflows and implementation timelines

Managing File notes, opportunities and tasking within Xplan software

Ensuring client data entry is accurate

Gathering / updating client information (Fact Find etc)

Maintaining Compliance folders & Fee Disclosure Statements

Experience, Skills and Qualification

Office 365 - including Outlook, Word, Excel (Basic)

High level of computer literacy i.e you know how to do computer stuff

Attention to detail

Friendly, Intelligent and Caring

Exceptional English - spoken and written

Great time management

Diligent

Able to work to your own beat

A desire to help people and be rewarded for helping

Salaries are dependent on experience, the position and relevant skills ranging from $65,000 - $120,000+ with Financial Advisors having uncapped earning potential here $250,000 We are flexible for part time roles for the right candidate and Fridays off for the full timers!
