Banyule Community Health seeks to employ an experienced Financial Counsellor to join an established multidisciplinary team. The key aim of the Financial Counselling role is to deliver high quality provision of information, guidance, practical assistance and advocacy intended to redress financial issues for individuals, couples and families across Banyule, Meribek, Darebin and Whittlesea. Building relationships with external and internal service providers across Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs and Family Violence services are critical for a holistic service response based on client needs.
This role will include working at our West Heidelberg site, as well as co-locations across the North and North East Metropolitan region.
The key responsibilities for this position include:
- Working in an integrated way with other clinicians and care providers to provide Financial Counselling case work through assessment, advocacy, financial interventions, information, education and capacity building to support eligible clients with financial issues.
- Provision of comprehensive Financial Counselling assessments that include a case plan with goals towards meeting outcomes for clients.
- Collect client data, maintain and review file records, including compiling client data for reporting purposes.
Qualification and/or Experience:
- Diploma of Financial Counselling.
- FCVic membership eligibility.
- Experience as a Financial Counsellor.
