You will be responsible for managing a small team of finance officers, preparing financial statements, overseeing corporate taxation systems and reporting, developing and reviewing internal control policies and processes, and liaising with external and internal auditors. You will also have the opportunity to work on various projects related to financial accounting issues, provide training and mentoring to staff, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our financial management practices. To be successful in this role, you will need: A degree in accounting or a related field and membership of a professional accounting body (such as CPA, CA or IPA would be highly desirable)Extensive experience in financial accounting, reporting and taxation in a complex organisation Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation and accounting standards. Knowledge of Queensland Treasury Reporting guidelines would be desirable Proven ability to lead, manage and motivate a team of finance professionals Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills High level of attention to detail, accuracy and quality Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines This is a rare chance to join the Parliamentary Service finance team providing administrative support to Queensland Parliament.
