Role Overview Reporting to the CEO, accountable to the Board and sitting on the Executive Leadership Team, this CFO will have full autonomy to build and drive the financial performance and lead the strategy for this organisation. The CFO has primary day-to-day responsibility for the management of the finance operations, compliance, reporting & decision support. The key success factor for this CFO will be their ability to successfully support the CEO in ensuring precise and effective financial performance. The CFO will both ideate and drive a new business strategy. The CFO's role will be to first and foremost to review and ensure business performance is in line with forecast and established community service needs. In conjunction with this, the CFO will support the CEO with operationalising a new strategy which is focused value adding scale through new services and new geographies. All of this will be supported by a cultural transformation of the finance team which the CFO will lead. The right candidate will have a strong understanding of mature and best in class business practices as well as recent demonstrable experience in delivering maturity to organisations that require creativity in maximising limited resources. At present you are in a Head of Finance or CFO position within a similar NGO and/or NFP organisation wanting to extend your capabilities and provide meaningful impact to a for purpose organisation. Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy: Partner with the CEO to develop and operationalize strategic financial planning People Leadership: Lead and elevate finance to be proactive and trusted advisors through strength in people development Financial performance & reporting: Directing the establishment of financial/accounting principles, policy and procedures including all accounting and statutory requirements to ensure a best-in-class finance operation. Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and embed structured and accurate budgeting & forecasting cadence for the leadership team and board Manage key external relationships: With auditors, insurers, key clients, funding bodies, as well as dealing directly with the board of directors. Decision Support: Oversee and provide strategic leadership to the activities of the business to identify and leverage opportunities across all areas of responsibility Business Systems: Optimise the use of Business Systems to create efficient work practices across the GL, Payroll systems and funding management. As well as undertake any reviews and new system implementations as required. Candidate Profile You are a CA/CPA and/or MBA qualified Finance Professional with significant experience as a CFO of a medium sized organisation. You have depth of experience with building best in class finance through people, systems and cultural optimisation. As a CFO, you have significant experience with supporting strategy development and execution. You hold a consultative leadership style that will nurture and grow your team and you are a curious leader who seeks to understand. Either way, you will bring to the role strong commercial acumen, vision for growth, and a passion for sound governance.
