  The Mental Health Family and Carer Programs Manager provides expert advice and services on all facets of Family / Carers Mental Health to government and non-government organisations across SESLHD.  The role has a specific focus on the provision of a range of family / carer related programs to support to the Mental Health Service to achieve the business and service objectives.

  Plan, coordinate, lead and manage human, financial, material and capital resources to provide a cost effective, quality service that meets key performance indicators and financial accountabilities of the Mental Health Service.

The Mental Health Family and Carer Programs Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for programs across the SESLHD Mental Health Service that support families and carers, when navigating their loved ones care.

The role will directly support the clinical sites at Eastern Suburbs, St George and Sutherland Mental Health Service (inpatient and community settings).

The role utilises skills, experience and advocacy to develop the Family and Carer Workforce as a change agent to influence and contribute more broadly to effective Mental Health Service delivery.

The Programs Manager will coordinate and support Carer Representation across the Mental Health Service and guide  Family Focused Recovery Practice at both a senior level and directly within the clinical settings.

The role is responsible for working with the SESLHD Mental Health Service management team and various key stakeholders (government and non-government) to develop strategies to meet the needs of families, carers and children of a parent with a mental health concern across all levels of service delivery.

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.

All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.

 A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.

In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.

Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.
