You will join a team that is part of a global advisory and financial control function with the opportunity to provide advise to the business on new and existing transactions, ongoing transaction lifecycle management, operational accounting and control functions and the regional oversight of the team supporting the Infrastructure and Energy Capital principal investing team in Macquarie Capital (MacCap).Macquarie’s four operating groups. Macquarie Capital is responsible for the Group's corporate advisory, M&A, debt, equity and private capital markets, principal investing and financing, and equity brokerage activity.Your key responsibilities will include: researching and documenting key accounting consideration relevant to a transactionassisting in the coordination and review of financial due diligence reportslifecycle transaction management, involving oversight of month end accounting functions and ensuring proper adherence to the financial control frameworkassisting in the co-ordination with other parts of Finance Management Group and Risk Management Group to understand overall implications of new transactionsproviding inputs for monthly management reporting including analysis of balance sheet and commentary by transactionoversight of financial control environment for portfolio investment companies and external third-party accounting providers including review of monthly reportingad hoc analysis, reporting and transaction analysis.Macquarie Capital offers global capability across infrastructure, energy, technology, telecommunications and media, resources, real estate, industrials, healthcare, financial institutions, consumer, gaming and leisure, services and aerospace, defence and government services.As such, you will have extensive interactions with deals teams, business unit CFO, Group Financial Controller and team leads. You will be liaising with other support areas including Group Finance, Tax, Treasury, Company Secretarial and Risk Management. Externally, you will be speaking with accounting providers and external auditors.You will also be involved in: Working closely with the deal teams to co-ordinate and review financial due diligence and accounting treatment on proposed investmentsMaking key technical accounting judgements and performing / overseeing the performance of the supporting analysisCo-ordination with other parts of Financial Management Group (Tax, Treasury, Group Finance) and Macquarie (Risk Management Group, Legal and Governance etc) to understand and evaluate the overall implications of new transactionsBriefing senior stakeholders on the relevant Finance considerations associated with deal approvals, including the Head of MacCap Finance, Head of Macquarie Group Finance, MacCap and Macquarie CFO.Oversee with implementation of new deals and the on-going financial control and management of the IEC APAC portfolio of investmentsLiasing with, overseeing and being the APAC regional escalation point for the work being performed by our offshore finance and legal entity control teams (includes month end accounting, statutory entity audits and other financial control tasks)Supporting deal teams with the onboarding and management of segregated finance teams and external accounting service providers,Co – ordinating and assessing of the valuation and impairment assessments for the Global IEC portfolioImplementating of financial control framework in new investments and businessesOversight and review of regional and divisional balance sheets and P<o be successful in this role, you will have a formal accounting qualification (Chartered Accountant or equivalent is preferred), with more than 5 years of post-qualification experience in a chartered or commercial environment. Experience within financial services would be an additional benefit.You will also have: initiative and follow through on issues with minimal supervisionthe ability to tailor verbal, listening and written communication skills to deal with staff across all levels and offshore office staffthe ability to establish strong working relationships with the business and other areas of the groupstrong client service and risk management focusstrong accounting background with an ability to apply technical knowledge in a transaction environment.
