What’s the role?
You’ll be the go-to person for all things risk for Westpac Fiji. You’ll work closely with our Fiji and Pacific leadership teams, making sure we’re not just ticking boxes but genuinely managing risk in a smart, forward-thinking way.
This is a full-time gig based in beautiful Fiji. You’ll lead a passionate, tight-knit team of second-line risk professionals across operational risk, credit risk, and assurance. These are people who care deeply about doing the right thing and supporting the business to grow safely. You’ll also work hand-in-hand with our Line 1 Controls & Monitoring teams, Compliance, Financial Crime, and Assurance Centres of Excellence—so you’re never flying solo.
You’ll be part of something bigger, helping shape the future of banking in the Pacific with a voice that’s heard and respected. If you’re someone who thrives on responsibility, loves a challenge, and wants to make a real impact—this is your moment.
What do I need?

• A sharp eye for risk and a curious mind. You’re someone who doesn’t just spot risks—you understand them, question them, and know how to guide others through them. You see patterns others miss and bring clarity to complexity.
• Provide independent advice and challenge to the Fiji Leadership Teams regarding their management of risks across all risk classes arising from both operational and change initiatives within their areas of responsibility.
• Maintain Credit Portfolio Quality. The courage to challenge and the wisdom to influence. You’ll be advising senior leaders and shaping big decisions. That means being confident enough to speak up, and skilled enough to bring people with you—even when the message is tough.
• Leadership that lifts others. You’ll be leading a talented team across operational risk, credit risk, and assurance. Your job is to inspire, support, and grow them—creating a culture where risk is respected, voices are heard, and people thrive.
• A translator of risk-speak. You can take technical risk concepts and turn them into plain, powerful language that makes sense to everyone—from frontline teams to the boardroom. You’re a communicator who connects.
• A collaborator at heart. You’ll be working across teams, time zones, and cultures. You know how to build strong relationships, navigate complexity, and get things done—together.
