You’ll manage the interpretation of rules and regulations and the translation of those at company level, overseeing guidance to the organisation on compliance issues; and build and maintain relationships with the respective authorities. As Head of Compliance you’ll execute the local strategy in a close collaboration with the global functional teams. As Head of Compliance you’ll manage the compliance department with a clear objective in Financial Crime, Quality Assurance, Integrated Compliance and Conduct Compliance and Culture. You’ll report hierarchically to the CRO Australia and functionally the Head of Compliance Retail/Rest of World (RoW). Ready to make an impact? What you’ll do Manage the Compliance Team and coordinate Compliance activities related to both Retail and Wholesale businesses; identifying and further developing staff capabilities and organise activities, tools and resources as required. Promote a global risk approach for the ING Australia entity, consistent with the residual Retail Banking and Wholesale Banking functional approaches. Coordinate cross-functional projects with different functional lines; providing adequate support to the businesses, while limiting costs where possible. Act as an inspiring leader to the local Compliance teams, driving a diverse team made up of cultural and educational backgrounds; identifying capabilities needed to meet the current and emerging business needs of this significant business area. Spearhead and implement a holistic and coherent view of the risks in connection with the Compliance domain, ensuring integration with broader organisational strategy. Guide the delivery of change management plans, anticipating complexity and challenges. Provide regulatory specialist advice to the local management team to guide the implementation of group policies across both local law and local regulations Ensure adherence to Compliance rules, set up and monitor Compliance and ethics systems, in line with the legal and regulatory obligations as well as professional standards. Challenge the application of risk management frameworks, coordinating with other control functions and provide input as necessary. Advise key stakeholders on the implementation of relevant (Group and local) requirements; ensuring best practice, and effectively and pro-actively informing and responding to queries and concerns from regulators, MBB, SB and other stakeholders Manage regulatory relationships and represent Compliance function with the various regulatory bodies. Maintain oversight of local AML program and execution drafts What we’re looking for Ability to participate in and/or manage complex and cross-departmental and cross functional compliance projects and represent the compliance function Experience with organisational change projects (such as SOLAR and 3LoD) Proven track record in dealing with regulators; knowledge and experience in international Retail and/or Wholesale Banking or insurance and investment products would be seen as highly advantageous Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior manager compliance role, advising and managing organisational (Risk) change projects Ability to operate in an environment that is subject to continual change: introducing new processes, procedures, services, products and increased regulatory changes (both locally and globally) with increased regulatory scrutiny Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team and to resolve complex situations quickly Highly effective stakeholder management skills with the ability to navigate a maturing landscape; enhanced negotiation and influencing skills, effective conflict resolution skills About Us At ING, we want to make life simpler and more worthwhile – for everyone who banks with us, for the people who work with us, and the community at large, too.
