About the role The Capricornian is seeking a Chief Information Officer to join our Executive Team in Rockhampton. As the head of the Information Technology department, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing our technology strategy. This is a permanent, full-time position with ample opportunities for professional growth and development. Key Responsibilities include: Develop and implement the overall technology strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives. Lead and manage the IT team, providing guidance, support, and fostering a collaborative working environment. Oversee the design, development, and implementation of robust IT systems and infrastructure to support business operations. Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Evaluate existing technologies and make recommendations for enhancements or replacements to drive efficiency and innovation. Collaborate with other departments to understand their technology needs and provide solutions that align with organisational objectives. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve the company's IT capabilities. About you Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, ITIL) is highly desirable. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in IT management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the financial services industry. Technical Skills: Proven expertise in IT governance, cyber security, vendor management, and IT infrastructure. Strong understanding of relevant regulations and compliance requirements in the financial sector. Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities, with a track record of building and leading high-performing IT teams. Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute IT strategies that align with business objectives and drive innovation. Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior executives, stakeholders, and external partners.
